Oezil wants to play out career at Real

Germany playmaker Mesut Oezil says he wants to see out his playing career with Real Madrid.

Oezil tells German magazine Kicker that "I want to finish my career at Real Madrid," and that while he knows Real will continue signing world-class players he wants "to be part of that future."

The 23-year-old Oezil, who joined Madrid from Werder Bremen in 2010, says his side is on course to claim the Spanish title from Barcelona.

Real have won 15 of its last 16 league games to lead the defending champion by seven points.

Oezil says "if we keep playing like we have recently, we can't be caught."

Oezil says he recovered last year's scintillating form after enjoying a winter break in Turkey where he "worked very hard. That's definitely paid off."
