Happy Ntshingila, CEO: SuperSport

A warm welcome to everyone involved in the SA Schools Shootout.

I am delighted that my arrival at SuperSport coincides with the start of this event. Football is close to my heart and it all begins with youngsters, who now have a world class tournament to participate in.

SuperSport is indebted to the Ministry of Sport and Recreation and the Ministry of Basic Education. They had the foresight, energy and dedication to ensure this event got off the ground.

It is my fervent hope that this will not be a one-off, but the start of something bigger and better; something that harnesses the amazing talents of boys from all corners of South Africa.

Somewhere out there is another Benni McCarthy, Katlego Mphela or and Siphiwe Tshabalala, a new wave of stars to herald something great for local football.

This tournament also salutes the participants who are here simply to enjoy their football. This is in line with the noble philosophy of Let’s Play, SuperSport’s CSI initiative that encourages youngsters to exercise in any shape or form.

Whether you are a participant or spectator, I hope that the SA Schools Shootout adds to your enjoyment of this great game.

I’m proud to conclude with the news that SuperSport will broadcast live 20 of the 42 matches, which confirms our endorsement of this exciting project.

Good luck to you all.
