Vieira joins Benfica from Gil
Portuguese midfielder Hugo Vieira has signed for first division Benfica from league rivals Gil Vicente, the Lisbon club confirmed on Tuesday.
"Hugo Vieira has signed a contract until June 20, 2016," Benfica said in a statement.
The 23-year-old said that he wanted to make his mark on the first team to quickly get a call-up to the national side.
The club have already signed Dutch forward Ola John from FC Twente.
