Oboabona to join Turkish club

Nigeria defender, Godfrey Oboabona, is expected to seal a move to Turkish Super Lig outfit, Caykur Rizespor this week.

The Sunshine Stars defender is scheduled to travel to Rize in Turkey to conclude the switch.

But this will happen after he features for Nigeria in the Nelson Mandela Challenge against South Africa in Durban this Wednesday, supersport.com has been informed.

"The deal has not been concluded yet but Godfrey will travel to Turkey this week after the match in South Africa on Wednesday. After then we will have a clear picture of the contract," Mike Idoko, who coordinates the affairs of Sunshine Stars as executive director of the Ondo State Football Agency, told supersport.com on Monday.

"At the moment I cannot disclose anything about the offer from Rizespor. When I have the information I will be able to talk about the financial terms and duration."

It is believed that Oboabona has agreed to a four-year contract with the Turkish club.

The Sunshine Stars captain had been linked with Arsenal and Lille in recent weeks.
