Sunshine line up Kwara Utd striker

Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side, Sunshine Stars, will try to prise away striker Adamu Yahaya from rivals, Kwara United.

Supersport.com has learned that the Akure club have made an approach to the player's representatives in a bid to lure him away from Kwara United when the mid-season transfer window opens in a few weeks.

"An approach has been made to the player and those close to him by Sunshine Stars but nothing concrete has been reached. We are hoping to secure him in the mid-season transfer window but it might be difficult after his experience with us before he left in Week Nine for Kwara United," said an official of Sunshine Stars.

Yahaya was a player of Rising Stars, a sister club of Sunshine Stars also owned by the Ondo State government until he joined Kwara United this term.

At the start of the season, the striker was in the books of Sunshine Stars but dumped the side to team up with Kwara United after he got no play time under sacked coach, Abimbola Samuel.

Yahaya, who has been named the League Bloggers Awards (LBA) Player for May, is attracting interest from Sunshine Stars after netting four goals in five matches for Kwara United in the NPFL last month.
