Divine Warriors seek new help

The Nigeria National League (NNL) side, Divine Warriors have recruited 15 new players heading into their Matchday 10 clash against Remo Stars on Saturday at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa.

The newcomers are made up of five attackers, five midfielders, four defenders and a goalkeeper while six old players have been dropped.

The Brass-based side were on a bye last weekend and used the opportunity to play two friendlies against newly-promoted Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) sides, Bayelsa United and Nembe City in Yenagoa.

Coach of the side, Ada Gwegwe said his side are now well positioned to challenge for vital points starting with this weekend's encounter against Remo Stars.

"We have added 15 new experienced players to our work force. We had the opportunity to test them in two tough friendlies against Bayelsa United and Nembe City and I can tell you they didn't disappoint.

"The friendlies were useful as they have prepared us adequately for the encounter against Remo Stars. We lost at Rising Stars and Abia Warriors while we drew at home against Bendel Insurance. So we've vowed to change those uninspiring results forever.

"So the tie against Remo Stars is a must win. We've got the tools and material to work with, now is the time to produce positive results.

"The new players have tested league action previously. We expect them to hit the ground running immediately. I believe together with the old players they'll give us the desired results which will shore up our fortune on the log," he said to supersport.com.

The Brass-based side have garnered poorly nine points from maximum of 27 points.
