Guinness wins Sports Brand of the Month Award

GUINNESS, official sponsor of Nigeria's Super Eagles, has emerged inaugural winner of the SportsBrand of the Month Award.

The brand emerged winner after a through certification exercise by the award panel in January.

Initiator of the award and CEO Sports Brands Nigeria Awards, Ojeikere Aikhoje said: “The SportsBrand of the Month Award panel voted for GUINNESS due to its creativity.

“GUINNESS had the best Integrated Marketing Communications campaign during the period under review which included the just-concluded Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.

“The biggest jersey campaign for the Eagles was the icing on the cake,” Aikhoje stated.

Aikhoje added that the “GUINNESS Fly With the Eagles” promo equally confirmed the brand’s confidence in Stephen Keshi's team.

SportsBrand of the Month Award is jointly organised by Sports Brands Nigeria Awards, “Nigeria’s Premier Sports Industry Awards,” SportsBrands TV, Sports Brands Network and ojeksaikhoje.blogspot.com, “The Leading Online resource for Brands in the business of Sports in Nigeria.”

The SportsBrand of the Month Award is the first-ever initiative to honour deserving SportsBrands monthly.

Aikhoje said the SportsBrand of the Month Award will be presented to GUINNESS at a date to be announced in Lagos.
