Kaduna Utd plot Ranchers' fall

Kaduna United centre-back, Emmanuel Ambrose has said his side will continue with their pre-season winning streak when they face Nigeria National League side, Ranchers Bees in Saturday's friendly tie at the Kaduna Township Stadium.

The Nigeria Premier League side have done pretty well almost in all the pre-season matches played so far. They hosted and won the pre-season eight-team invitational tournament, drew with NPL champions, Kano Pillars while they won the reverse fixture in Kaduna and had another good outing against Wikki Tourists.

The Ranchers Bees' encounter is to further strengthen the side and keep them in good shape for the NPL 2012/13 season expected to kickoff on February 16 while their opponents want to keep busy in the face of postponement of NNL Matchday 8 encounters due to Super Eagles' final match against the Stallions of Burkina Faso at the Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.

Ambrose said his side cannot imagine a defeat in the hands of a lower division side, Ranchers Bees.

"The game is part of our preparations for the upcoming NPL season. It's a friendly game to further help us assess ourselves and see where we're lacking.

"Of course, none of us is thinking of either defeat or draw in the game. A defeat is certainly unacceptable. We're going all out for victory," said the captain of his side to supersport.com.

Ambrose said his side have done a good job in terms of preparation for the coming season.

"We've had a good pre-season preparations. We won all our pre-season matches except one we drew. We won the pre-season eight-team invitational tournament in Kaduna, held Kano Pillars to a draw in Kano while we won in Kaduna. We gave a good account of ourselves against Wikki Tourists in Lafia. So by and large, we're ready for the new season and we'll surely excel," he said.
