Prime target win at Akwa Starlets

Prime FC coach, Ademola Adesina has said his side will end their travel jinx against their NNL Matchday 5 opponents, Akwa Starlets on Sunday.

The Osogbo-based side edged hard-fighting Remo Stars on Matchday 4 going into the road trip encounter against the Akwa Ibom-based club.

Adesina said the encounter against Akwa Starlets will be tough and however assured that his wards will overpower them for their first away win.

"I'm yet to pick an away win, I understand it is negative impact on the players' morale. An away win has a way of motivating a team to earn more wins. That's why we've sworn to end the no-away-win syndrome against Akwa Starlets.

"Though it's usually difficult against unknown side we're prepared to go there and win.

"Although the league is still young as not to cause panic to any one but an away win will up our position on the log and also boost the players' confidence," said the former Nigerian defender to supersport.com.

Adesina said the absence of a home ground is a big challenge in his wards quest to climb to the number one spot.

"The Osogbo stadium is undergoing reconstruction which has seen us playing our home matches at Ibadan and it has been tough coping with the situation.

"Even our opponents come with confidence that they are meeting us at a neutral ground. As it stands our supposedly home matches are more or less away games.

"We're hoping that work at the Osogbo stadium would be completed on time to allow us the luxury of playing before our home fans," he said.
