'Romario' joins El-Kanemi

Midfielder Shehu Abdullahi has been signed on by El-Kanemi Warriors following their return to the Nigeria Premier League (NPL).

Abdullahi, who is also known as Romario for his silky skills on the ball, joined Warriors last week on a one-year contract after leaving relegated Niger Tornadoes.

"My club future has been sorted out as I will be playing for El-Kanemi Warriors in the coming season. I've been training with the squad and hopefully we can achieve a lot as a team when the season starts," Abdullahi told supersport.com.

Abdullahi has been handed squad number 25 for the 2012/13 NPL season.

The midfielder featured for 88 minutes in El-Kanemi's goalless draw with Nigerian champions, Kano Pillars in a pre-season tune-up game.
