Daniel's treble sink Rising Stars

Striker Bode Daniel was the hero of the Nigeria National League (NNL) Matchday 3 after he netted the first hat-trick of the season.

Daniel's hat-trick helped Crown FC to a 3-1 win over southwest rivals, Rising Stars at the Soun Stadium in Ogbomoso on Sunday.

The first of his treble came inside five minutes of the game when he nodded home Lekan Agunloye's pass to give Crown FC a goal lead.

On 24 minutes, Daniel pounced again to poke home the ball as Crown FC went in the driving seat at the break.

In the business end of the game, Rising Stars halved the score by giving themselves a lifeline through Adeyemi Abiodun's goal in the 57th minute.

But Daniel got the insurance goal for the Ajilete Valiant as he grabbed the first hat-trick of his career with 19 minutes remaining in the game.

The Crown FC striker has dedicated his goals to his wife, Olajumoke Daniel.

"I dedicate my hat-trick to my lovely wife, being the first hat-trick in my football career and the win to all my fans," said Daniel.

In Jos, Plateau United and Niger Tornadoes finished the game with ten men apiece after Chigozie Maurice and Sunday Ajilo respectively were shown red cards.

Emmanuel Edafe put Plateau United in front on four minutes after converting from a corner kick.

Tornadoes drew level with nine minutes to the break through Kadiri Shehu before Daddy Maurice scored the winner in the second half.

In one of the derbies of Matchday 3, Remo Stars took the full points by edging Gateway FC by a goal through Ahmed Agbogunleri's 62nd minute goal.
