Victor Anichebe scored his fourth goal of the season for Everton on Wednesday as the Barclays English Premier League reached Matchday 21.
The forward reacted in predatory fashion inside the six yard box to steer home Nikita Jelavic’s precise cross as Everton beat Newcastle United at St James’ Park.
The forward has struggled with injuries this season but has always weighed in with important goals whenever he has been called upon by the Everton manager, David Moyes.
Anichebe’s teammate, Leighton Baines who netted his side’s first goal against Everton with a blistering free kick was full of praise for the 24-year-old.
“He’s been massive for us but has really had a bad time with injuries this season. But whenever he plays, he’s been scoring lots of goals for us. He’s very useful to us and the lads are pleased for him,” Baines said.
Anichebe has made ten appearances for Everton this season in the Premier League.
