Odemwingie hits rough spell

It’s been a difficult last few weeks for striker, Osaze Odemwingie.

The attacker was recently overlooked by Nigeria for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations and has also been enduring a lean spell with Barclays English Premier League club, West Bromwich Albion.

Odemwingie came on as a 66th minute substitute for West Bromwich Albion in the 1-2 loss to Fulham at the Hawthorns on Tuesday.

West Brom enjoyed a purple patch towards the end of 2012 that took the club up to second on the table but following their latest blip, the Baggies have now slumped to 7th with 33 points from 21 points.

The 31-year-old however displayed a philosophical approach to his latest travails on and off the pitch through his now famous verified account, @OdemwingieP, on the social networking site, Twitter.

“There was a lot of shaking in 2012. Good games and bad games. Some unforgettable victories and also losses. To God be all the glory,” he submitted.

Odemwingie also took the time to reflect on his astonishing rants on two occasions that saw him took a swipe at several individuals including Super Eagles captain, Joseph Yobo and former African Footballer of the Year, Victor Ikpeba.

“I am the people's person and like interacting. But a request for New Year please don't provoke me too much haha,” he said.

The former La Louviere striker rounded off by thanking his fans who wished him well in the coming years and prayed that they enjoy the same.

"Thanks for the happy new year msgs. Wish you all the same," he wrote.
