Nigerian striker, Imoh Ezekiel has scored his 11th goal of the season for Belgian club, Standard Liege in this season’s Jupiler League.
The 19-year-old, who is one of the hottest properties in European football, scored inside the opening two minutes as Standard lost 1-3 against Club Brugge on Sunday.
Imoh is his club’s top scorer and fifth in the top scorers’ log in Belgium with only Ebrahima 'Ibou' Sawaneh (OH Lueven; 16 goals); Carlos Bacca (Club Brugge; 16 goals); Dieumerci Mbokani (Anderlecht 14 goals) and Jelle Vossen (Racing Genk 12 goals) the only players to have scored more this season.
Manager of three-time Nigeria Premier League (NPL) champions Dolphins, Stanley Eguma has been following the progress of the youngster this season and is full of praise for the young Imoh.
“I have seen some of his videos and I must say I am impressed with him. (Super Eagles coach), Stephen Keshi is a man whose judgment I respect a lot but I was surprised Imoh was not included in the provisional 32-man squad for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations,” Eguma told supersport.com.
Imoh began his football education at Nigerian amateur club, 36 Lion FC in 2011 before proceeding to Liege on loan in 2012.
