Rising unsure of NNL win

Rising Stars coach, Sunday Erelesusi has said they are going into the NNL season's opener against Remo United with an open mind.

The tie is billed for Sunday at the Sagamu Stadium in Ogun State.

Erelesusi said his charges are not adequately prepared for the encounter to expect positive result.

"We just resumed camp on Monday not with the team that campaigned at the Premier League last season but with an entirely new team of rookies.

"From the look of things I won't say I've raised a team to start expecting miracle.

"All my strikers have gone, so we're not going into the match with a fixed mind at victory.

"I'm not expecting miracle but ready to take whatever that comes out of the game.

"Time is inadequate to prepare the team, four or five days is not enough to raise a team from scratch and assume they'll perform magic. Maybe the team will get better as the season wears on," he said.

Erelesusi, who lamented the tough stand of the management over the make up of the team, said it may not take the team far on the ladder.

"The management abolished signing-on fees, insisted that players must be indigenes as well as Under20.

"Perhaps, their minds are fixed on seeing the team in the amateur league. It's not the best for me. It's tight but we'll see what can come out of the measures," he said.

The Akure-based side were among the four that lost their spot in the elite league at the end of 2011/2012 league season.
