Heartbreak for Eneramo

Nigerian striker, Michael Eneramo will play no further part in this season’s Turkish Cup following Sivasspor’s 0-2 defeat at Fenerbahce on Thursday night.

Joseph Yobo did not play for Fenerbahce while Ogenyi Onazi failed to play any part in Lazio’s Coppa Italia victory over Siena.

It was however a very happy night for Chelsea’s Victor Moses as supersport now rounds up the performance of Nigerians in Europe on a frenetic Thursday night.

Italy (Coppa Italia)

Ogenyi Onazi’s time at the fringes continued at SS Lazio on Thursday night.

The 19-year-old was overlooked by the Lazio Manager, Vladimir Petkovic as the Biancocelesti overpowered Siena 4-1 on penalties at the Stadio Olympico to progress to the quarter finals of the Coppa Italia.

Onazi is still looking to score his first goal for the club following his promotion from the Youth team at the start of the 2012/13 season.

Turkey (Turkish Cup)

Joseph Yobo was ‘rested’ by the Fenerbahce trainer, Aykut Kocaman in the club’s 2-0 win over Sivasspor at the Sukru Saracoglu on Thirsday.

Michael Eneramo was on for all 90 minutes but failed to score as his side exited the competition at the expense more illustrious opposition.

England (League Cup)

Victor Moses was impressive in Chelsea’s 5-1 win over Leeds United in the quarter finals of the League Cup at Elland Road.

The former Wigan Athletic man scored once and provided an assist as Chelsea blew the resistance of Leeds apart with a terrific second half display.

It would have been a happier day for Moses but his first half strike was ruled out as Fernando Torres who provided the ‘assist’ was adjudged to have been in an offside position.
