Haruna opens goal account



Former junior international, Lukman Haruna continued his progress at Ukrainian club, Dynamo Kiev as he scored his first goal of the season in the club’s 4-2 over Hoverla Uzhhorod at the Stadion Avanhard on Matchday 18 of the Premier League.

There were also goal-scoring heroics for Ezekiel Imoh, Brown Ideye and Kalu Uche in Belgium, Ukraine and Turkey respectively as supersport.com rounds up the performances of Nigerians abroad at the weekend.

Belgium (Jupiler Super League)

Michael Uchebo was a 59th minute substitute for Cercle Brugge in the club’s 1-2 loss to Anderlecht at the Stade Constant Vanden Stock.

Derrick Ogbu was part of the action for OH Leuven in their 1-1 draw at home to AA Gent.

He was booked in the game and subsequently substituted after 60 minutes.

Ezekiel Imoh netted after 12 minutes to power Standard Liege to a 2-0 win away to Waasland-Beveren.

England (Barclays English Premier League)

John Mikel Obi and Victor Moses endured an afternoon they will not be forgetting any time soon. The duo were both given starting berths by the interim Chelsea manager, Rafa Benitez in their 1-3 loss to West Ham United at Upton Park.

Victor Anichebe was not listed by the Everton manager, David Moyes as the Toffees held champions, Manchester City to a 1-1 draw at the Etihad Stadium.

Peter Odemwingie came on for West Bromwich Albion after 64 minutes but he failed to inspire the Baggies in their 0-1 capitulation at home to Stoke City.

France (Ligue 1)

John Utaka lasted 69 minutes in HSC Montpelier 0-1 loss to the leaders, Olympique Lyon at the Stade Gerland.

Simon Zenke was not listed by AS Nancy in the 1-1 draw at Évian Thonon Gaillard FC.

Apam Onyekachi came off the bench in the second half to help Rennes steady their backline as they edged Troyes 3-2.

Germany (Bundesliga)

Chinedu Obasi was an unused substitute for Schalke 04 in their 1-1 draw against Borussia Monchengladbach at the Veltins-Arena.

Joseph Akpala came on with 19 minutes remaining for Werder Bremen in their 4-1 win away to TSG Hoffeinheim.

Italy (Serie A)

Ogenyi Onazi was an unused substitute in SS Lazio’s 2-0 win against Parma at the Satadio Olympico.

Joel Obi was not listed in Inter’s 0-0 draw at home to Palermo.

The Netherlands (Eredivisie)

Kenneth Omeruo played all 90 minutes for ADO Den Haag in the 0-2 defeat at FC Twente.

Uche Nwofor was not listed for VVV-Venlo in their goalless draw at PEC Zwolle.

Olufemi Ajilore played all 90 minutes for FC Groningen in their 2-0 win over Heracles Almelo at the Euroborg.

Russia (Premier League)

Emmanuel Emenike scored Spartak Moscow’s second goal as the club from the capital found themselves on the wrong end of a 2-4 scoreline against champions, Zenit St. Petersburg.

Victor Obinna was impressive for the 89 minutes he was on the pitch as he inspired Lokomotiv Moscow to a 1-0 win away to Akania Vladikavkaz.

It was a bad day in the office for Nigeria’s top scorer in the Premier League, Ahmed Musa as his CSKA Moscow side suffered a comprehensive 0-2 loss to the big-spending Anzhi Makhachkala at the Dinamo Stadion.

Ahmed Musa was on for all 90 minutes for CSKA.

Spain (La Liga)

Odion Ighalo was impressive and had several goal-bound shots beaten out as Granada were held to a 0-0 draw by RCD Espanyol at the Nuevo Los Cármenes.

Ighalo was on for all 90 minutes.

Nosa Igiebor was thrown into the fray with three minutes left on the clock for Real Betis as they stunned Deportivo La Coruna at the Riazor.

Obafemi Martins played all 90 minutes for Levante in the 1-1 draw at Celta Vigo.

Turkey (Super Lig)

Isaac Promise was on for all 90 minutes for Antalyaspor in the 1-0 win over Mersin Idmanyurdu.

Former Enugu Rangers forward, Nduka Ozokwor was not listed by the Mersin Idmanyurdu trainer, Nurullah Saglam.

Michael Eneramo was substituted after 45 minutes by the Sivasspor coach, Riza Çalimbay in the club’s 0-2 defeat at Büyüksehir Bld. Spor.

Joseph Yobo lasted all 90 minutes for Fenerbahce in the 1-1 draw at Kayserispor.

Kalu Uche was on song again as he scored after 72 minutes to help Kasimpasa to a 2-2 draw at Eskisehirspor.

Ukraine (Premier League)

Lukman Haruna scored his first goal of the season for Dynamo Kiev in the club’s 4-2 win at Hoverla Uzhorod. Brown Ideye was also on the score sheet for Dynamo Kiev.
