Ezeji's Mother passes

Enugu Rangers' forward, Victor Ezeji has been hit with a tragedy following the death of his mother on Saturday.

Comfort Ezeji passed on in the early hours of Saturday after taking ill on Thursday.

Confirming the incident to supersport.com, the former Enyimba man said the Ezeji family has been overcome by grief at the news.

“This is one of the saddest days in my life and all members of the family are stunned as she had been a bundle of activity before this sad development,” he said.

The veteran attacker said he would be taking some time off from the game but assured his fans he would be back "sooner rather than later."

"This is a moment of great sadness and one for sober reflections for me. I will take some time out of the game briefly to reflect on this but I will be back sooner rather than later to do what I know best,” Ezeji said.

The 31-year-old completed a move from Sharks to Enugu Rangers earlier this week.
