Musa's brace lifts CSKA

Nigeria winger, Ahmed Musa on Saturday scored a brace as PFC CSKA Moscow beat Kuban Krasnodar 3-1 on match day 15 of the Russia Premier League.

The forward’s double which takes his tally for the season to seven also cements CSKA’s place at the summit of the Premier League standings with 36 points from 15 matches.

Musa’s first strike, a well drilled left footed effort from inside the box off a sublime pass from Russian international, Alan Dzagoev arrived on on 35 minutes.

The Nigerian’s second was scored in fortuitous fashion as Dzagoev’s shot deflected off his backside past the Krasnodar keeper, Aleksandr Belenov.

Musa is now his club’s top scorer with Japanese international, Keisuke Honda, Keisuke Honda one strike short of the former VVV Venlo man’s total.

Only three players, Alexander Kerzhakov (Zenith St. Petersburg; 9 goals), Yuri Movsisyan (Kuban Krasnodar; 9 goals), (Danilo Neco; 9 goals) and Lacina Traore (Anzhi Makhachkala; 8 goals).

Musa has made 14 appearances for Nigeria scoring 3 goals.
