Wikki defender recovers from injury

Wikki Tourists' defender, Festus Umanah is back in training after suffering a foot injury.

The former Ocean Boys' man has been out for eight weeks after copping an injury to his left foot in a training session in the off-season.

But the 21-year-old started training this week with the Tourists in Bauchi after recovering.

"I've started training again after two months of being out injured due to a foot injury on my left leg. It's good to be back again on the pitch," said the right-back.

The defender, who can also play at left-back, is staying back at Wikki Tourists for the 2012/2013 Nigeria Premier League (NPL) season.

"No plans to leave Wikki Tourists for now. I'm committed to playing for them in the coming season. Hopefully we can improve on our performance of last season and win something or even qualify for the continent," said Umanah to supersport.com.

Umanah has been with Wikki Tourists for the past two seasons.
