Dolphins and Shobowale part ways

Dolphins' midfielder, Azeez Shobowale has bade farewell to the former Nigerian champions.

Shobowale joined the Garden City side from ABS at the start of the 2011/2012 NPL season.

He was prominent in his side's futile Caf Champions League and league title campaign.

Dolphins waited for the last day game win against relegated side, Rising Stars to cement their spot in the Premier League on 49 points from 36 matches.

Shobowale said he played his last game for the Port Harcourt side on September 7 against the Akure-based side.

"Yes, I've quit Dolphins for good, I'll feature for another Premier League side when the 2012/2013 season starts.

"I enjoyed my season at Dolphins, I just decided it's time to move on and seek greener pasture elsewhere.

"I've had fruitful discussions with top teams and more are still showing keen interest in having my signature.

"I want to keep their identities away from the public until I pen my signature then nobody will be in doubt where I'll lace my boot next season.

"What is certain now is that I've left Dolphins," he told supersport.com.

The former ABS playmaker said he did not achieve his personal target at Dolphins.

"I left Bukola Babes to Dolphins with the aim of winning titles. Unfortunately, we didn't win any title but managed to escape relegation.

"The out gone season was really bad for the team, I hope they'll come up next season and challenge for the titles," he said.

Unconfirmed reports linked the player with the teams that will feature in the continent next year.

Dolphins asked their players to go on break at the end of the season with a proviso to hold on until asked to come for their entitlement.
