Motivation key to Bosso and Wikki

Wikki Tourists coach, Ladan Bosso, is convinced the recent part payment of signing-on fees to his players played a huge part in their great escape from relegation.
Wikki had slipped down the premier league table with two games left and looked vulnerable after they seemed to have a harder run-in than their rivals with away trips to Sharks and Enyimba.
They had hoped to just take one point from any of the ties to remain safe.
However, they defied the odds to beat Sharks in Port Harcourt and a relieved Bosso told SuperSport.com that his players have proved that they can hold their own if they are properly motivated.
"I have always said the problem of Wikki isn't the competence of the players because we started very well and only lost our way when promises were not being fulfilled," he said.
"Since part of their money was paid out two weeks ago, the results are there for every one to see.
"We were looking for one point to be mathematically safe from relegation, since the last two games were away from home, but we have won one of them and would be under no pressure in the last game against Enyimba.
"It was very important for us to pick the points that would take us to safety early enough than risk doing it on the final matchday, so we are grateful to our sponsors for acting in time.
"It was our first away win of the season and we're now comfortable, so it calls for celebration," he added.
Wikki are seventh in the premiership with 54 points.
