Players of Nigeria Premier League (NPL) club, Heartland (also known as the Naze Millionaires), are yet to be paid 80 per cent of their signing-on fees for the 2011/2012 season.
Manager of the club, Lodewijk de Kruif said the sponsors of the club promised the players would receive their contract fees by the end of June.
“We were promised that the players would get their payment by the end of (June) but they have still not been paid.
“We hope the monies are paid soon,” he said.
De Kruif also spoke ahead of Thursday’s Matchday 33 clash between Heartland and Enyimba in Aba.
Heartland lost the reverse fixture 2-3 to the People’s Elephants at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu earlier this season and de Kruif is keen to see his wards exact revenge on their bitter rivals.
“We always want the officiating to be fair but that is usually difficult to attain during the away matches. We want to win in Aba and we will give it our best shot.
“We don’t have any injury concerns ahead of the game so we have a chance,” he said.
Heartland currently sit in 11th place on the NPL log with 46 points from 31 matches.
