Erelesusi warns NPL

Rising Stars' coach, Sunday Erelesusi has said that Nigerian league is doomed should the outcome of Wednesday's Matchday 33 against Lobi Stars in Ado-Ekiti be altered.

The encounter was abandoned by the visitors 14 minutes to regulation time with the home side still in the lead.

Left winger Shedrack Francis put the home side forward in the 73rd minute.

Erelesusi told SuperSport.com that his wards are looking forward to the next game as the Lobi tie has been won and lost.

"We've won the game and I dare say that if anything happened to the result Nigerian league is doomed forever.

"I can't imagine any sensible person calling for a replay of the match.

"We're thinking now of the next league match and no more of Lobi.

"Nobody complained nor protested over our goal, there was no fight throughout the duration of the game.

"It was Lobi Stars' Dominic Iorfa that called out his players alleging insufficient police presence about 14 minutes to the end of the game.

"He said he was stoned from the stands, held up his hands but after thorough search for the stone none was found.

"It was Iorfa that abandoned the match probably on the wrong assumption that Rising Stars are the place he could easily get point or points," he said.

Erelesusi said his headache at the moment is how to pull his side out of the relegation water.

"I'm struggling to see how I can get out of the relegation zone and nothing more.

"We'll take the survival fight to the last game hoping that providence will smile on us," he said.

Rising Stars are second from rear on 35 points from possible 99.

SuperSport.com calls to Lobi Stars' boss, Dominic Iorfa were not answered while NPL secretary, Tunji Babalola could not be reached on telephone as at the time of this report.
