Nigeria Premier League (NPL) club, Enyimba have booked a ticket for the Round of 16 stage of this year’s Federation Cup.
The People’s Elephants defeated Kogi United 1-0 at the Rwang Pam Stadium, Jos in a feisty Round of 32 contest decided on Sunday.
Nzube Anazemba scored the game’s only goal in the 36th minutes that saw Enyimba safely through to the group stages of Nigeria’s oldest football competition in Nigeria.
"It was a tough game but my boys did their job. It was good to avoid upsets because like you know, several big teams have fallen in this year’s competition. I am pleased we are through to the round of 16,” Enyimba coach, Augustine Eguavoen told SuperSport.com.
Fifteen sides have booked their tickets for the Federation Cup so far.
The final last 16 place in the competition will be taken up by either Kano Pillars or Kaduna United after their clash on Sunday.
