Nwordu to leave Ocean
by Humphrey Njoku 27 June 2012, 11:15
Ocean Boys' centre-back, Andrew Nwordu has said he will not go down with the Brass-based side.
Nwordu told SuperSport.com that he has paid his due for the basement team and would march on should they drop to the unfancied lower cadre at the end of the season.
"No, I won't go down with Ocean Boys. Definitely, I'll look elsewhere to continue with my career.
"It's really tough being an Ocean Boys player. I've done my best for them and will never be blamed for whatever happens to them at the end of the season," Nwordu said.
Ocean Boys have a rescheduled Matchday 28 at struggling side, Jigawa Golden Stars at the weekend and Nwordu said they will honour the tie to fulfil all righteousness.
"Our morale is down, the spirit is low, we'll try our best and chance a win or draw.
"The game is insignificant, probably to fulfil all righteousness. We're not to be blamed, if we're motivated and given our dues, we'll fight like wounded lions.
"We're going there to put up appearance," he said.
Ocean Boys are at the base of the 20-team elite league on 27 points with about six matches to end the season.
