Former league star, Chidi Orji, is set for a return to action in the Nigeria National League with El-Kanemi Warriors.
Orji, who played for top sides like defunct Julius Berger, Iwuanyanwu Nationale (now Heartland) and 3SC spent the last season at amateur division one side, FC Lokoja.
He won several individual awards when PEPSI sponsored the defunct Professional League and was named in the season's Team PEPSI.
"It's good to be back after injury took me away from the game," he said to SuperSport.com.
"I decided to play for FC Lokoja last year to attain match fitness after recovering from injury. It turned out to be a good decision. I'm happy to be back now. I thank God that I'm fit for the round leather
game again," he stated.
Orji, who now plays as an attacking midfielder told SuperSport.com that his priority is to boost El-Kanemi's quest for promotion.
"With the quality of players in the team, I'm confident that El-Kanemi will play in the Premier League," he said.
El-Kanemi, now coached by Kelechi Emeteole will begin their season with a road trip at relegated Juth.
