Obasi hits first goal for Schalke 04

Following his winter break switch from TSG Hoffenheim to Schalke 04, Super Eagles' winger, Chinedu Obasi Ogbuke has now scored his first goal for his new club.

The 25-year-old was on target in the 59th minute as Schalke drew 1-1 with Mainz at the Veltins-Arena on Saturday.

The winger who was utilized in an advanced midfield position by coach, Huub Stevens in the game picked up a yellow card late on.

“I was pleased with my performance (against Mainz) because I played very well but I am not happy that we failed to get all three points,” Obasi told SuperSport.com.

Obasi has now made three appearances for Schalke since his mid season switch.

The winger made 10 appearances for TSG Hoffenheim before his recent move to Schalke.

Schalke will face Borussia Monchengladbach in their next game on February 11 at Borussia Park.
