Former Wikki Tourists manager, Hassan Abubakar, is optimistic that the new season will offer better opportunities for him.
Abubakar left the Bauchi State owned club in controversial circumstances after returning the relegated club to the elite class.
Wikki finished 17th on the 20-team log and dropped to the lower division at the end of the 2009/2010 season. Abubakar was later contracted to continue the quest for a return to the top flight after Justin Tenger left for Niger Tornadoes in February.
The former Golden Eaglets gaffer eventually earned the club a ticket to the Premier League. However, SuperSport.com learnt that Abubakar left Wikki because the new management directed him to re-apply for the job when he expected a contract renewal having returned the club to the top flight.
“All that happened in Wikki is now a thing of the past. Some clubs are already talking with me. I'm happy that I was able to take the Wikki from the National League back to the Premier League within a short time.
“ I achieved similar feat at Zamfara United and ensured Sunshine didn't go down at a time,” he said to SuperSport.com.
