Masilela will make weekend cup tie

Kaizer Chiefs left-back Tsepo Masilela will be fit for the club’s crunch Nedbank Cup quarterfinal clash with holders SuperSport United at FNB Stadium on Saturday (kick-off 6pm live on SS4), his club have confirmed.

Masilela picked up a thigh strain in the 1-0 victory over Chippa United last weekend, and although the injury is not said to be serious, he will be rested in training this week.

His injury has highlighted the strain being put on Premier Soccer League squads at the moment as the fixtures pile up across all fronts.

Coach Steve Komphela admits that with games coming thick and fast to the end of the season, it is a juggling act to make sure all his players stay fresh.

“We are currently getting the bodies back into shape,” he told his club’s website. “We will work in steps to get the lads ready for the next match. It is not easy, but they look very good.”
