We can't be complacent - Mayambela

Soweto giants' midfielder Mark Mayambela says there won't be any room for complacency for Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup final on Saturday.

The league champions face First Division outfit Black Leopards at Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit in a match they have to win to collect a treble of trophies in the season.

The skillful player added that after the highs of last weekend -- as they dramatically lifted the Premiership crown on a better goal difference --the onus is now on them to ensure that they do not end the campaign with a shock defeat.

Pirates are already in the Mpumalanga province where they are holding a camp for the match.

"I won't lie, it isn't going to be easy for us after our league triumph," said Mayambela.

"We will need a strong mentality heading to the game and cannot be complacent against them.

"Everything has been right so far in the team this week heading to the final, and all the players are excited about the weekend."

The 23-year-old Mayambela is in his first season with the Buccaneers and had been impressed with how it turned out.

"For me personally it will be a milestone," he said.

"It is something huge in my career to be in the position where the team will win a historic treble in my first season with the club."

Pirates will be bolstered by the full recovery of young striker Bongani Ndulula who had to be substituted in the league match against Golden Arrows after hurting his ankle.

Veteran winger Dikgang Mabalane's season is, however, officially over because of a groin injury.

Earlier in the week, coach Ruud Krol also said goalkeeper Moeneeb Josephs and winger Daine Klate will not feature in the game despite the players having begun training with the side after long term injuries.

Leopards, who are also in the promotion play-offs, will have a full squad at their disposal for their first major final with the exception of defender Harry Nyirenda who is suspended.

They will be banking on forward Rodney Ramakgalela to lead them to the trophy and the R6 Million cheque.

The player had netted three goals in the tournament so far and will be key alongside captain Robert Ng'ambi upfront for Lidoda Duvha.

"This is a big moment for us being that it's our first final," said Ramakgalela, who also netted 12 goals in the inland stream division.

"We are ready for Pirates, and as players we will be give a big push to this cup."

Leopards communications head Chief Thidiela also said there was an incentive for the players in the final.

"Players get standard match incentives anyway, and because it's a final it will obviously be much higher," Thidiela said.

The match kicks off at 3pm.
