United FC take on Vasco

The National First Division will resume on Wednesday when United FC host Vasco Da Gama at the Kimberley Stadium.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 19h30.

The two sides are on opposite ends of the log with Vasco lying in fourth place while United FC are third from the bottom.

A Vasco win will see the Cape club five points behind leaders Blackburn Rovers, while United have a chance to escape the relegation zone.

The Kimberley-based side recently parted ways with coach Duncan Lechesa, who left to re-join Carara Kicks, with team manager Richard Makhoba taking over the reins, and he will be looking to start his tenure with a positive result.

United earned a valuable point last weekend when they held University of Pretoria to a goalless draw and will be in search of their third win of the season.

Tony de Nobrega’s men on the other hand put the 3-1 loss to FC Cape Town behind them when they thrashed FC AK 3-0 on Wednesday, with Marcelino Johnson scoring a brace.

This fixture will complete round 12 of the NFD after FC AK completed their catch-up games on Wednesday.
