We just want to explode now - Kapowezha

FC AK veteran Elasto Kapowezha says the delay in fixtures has only served to motivate the players who just want to “explode when they get onto the field”.

The troubled club only recently began playing its delayed National First Division matches after the drawn out saga involving the ownership of the club.

FC AK have caught up well now and are just two games off the pace and while it may seem as if they are under pressure, Zimbabwean Kapowezha says the players are hungry and focused.

“We simply want to win. The guys were very motivated when the ruling ended and we could get back onto the field and play,” the former AmaZulu and Bidvest Wits player says.

“But our motivation has not stopped either. This group of players has been together for two/three years so there is good unity here and now the players just want to explode on the field.

“But we also know it must be one game at a time now. We will be clever in how we approach the matches because we are definitely not here to make up the numbers.

“We have a good mix of youth and experience and I will look to the likes of Kelebogile Mabe, Thando Mkhonza and Danian Wareley to add their experience for us this season.”

FC AK are in position seven with 15 points. They are now only two matches behind, having played nine while the others have played eleven games.
