Rovers to protect their lead

Blackburn Rovers will be looking to protect their lead in the National First Division when they travel to the Sinaba Stadium to face Atlie FC on Saturday.

The East London side suffered a setback last weekend when they lost at home to Thanda Royal Zulu, which saw their lead reduced to just two points.

Any slip up from the leaders will give second-placed University of Pretoria a chance to top the log after the weekend.

However, AmaTuks will have to win a tough clash against Vasco Da Gama at the Absa Tuks Stadium for them to leapfrog Rovers.

Chippa United will kick-start the weekend when they entertain United FC at the Philipi Stadium on Friday night.

On Saturday, FC AK will be hoping to continue with their great start to the season. Despite their busy match schedule, the Eldorado Park-based side have climbed to 5th place, with two games in hand.

Sivutsa Stars can bounce back from their humiliating 5-1 loss to FC AK when they take on FC Cape Town at the NNK Rugby Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Mpumalanga based side has lost three games in a row and will be going into this clash without coach Innocent Mayoyo who was given leave by the club.

Mpumalanga Black Aces and Carara Kicks will be desperate for points when they clash at the Puma Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Both sides have lost half of their matches this season and find themselves on the wrong end of the log.

Also on Sunday, Dynamos will host the struggling Bay United at the Giyani Stadium, while African Wariors will welcome Witbank Spurs to the Charles Mopeli Stadium.
