Hunt hopes MTN8 is just the start

SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt says he hopes the MTN8 final will provide a kick-start to his side’s season, United face Moroka Swallows at Orlando Stadium on Saturday night. Kick-off is at 8:15pm CAT (SA, GMT+2), Live on SS4, SS4HD and supersport.com

Matsatsantsa are unbeaten in seven games in all competitions this year, winning three of those, and Hunt says they are nowhere near full throttle yet.

But the chance to win R8-million in prize-money and put their name on another domestic trophy should fire his players into action, Hunt says.

"For us, it can kick-start our season and certainly give us better momentum through the season. I'm sure the money is also good," Hunt said. "We are looking forward to the game, to have a final so early in the season."

Hunt says his side have been creating enough chances to win matches but poor finishing has let them down. He denies they are a defensive team.

"I don't see it as an attacking team against a defending team," Hunt said. "I think we've created a lot of chances in the games we've played.

"We just haven't had the finishing touch sometimes here and there, but for me it's about being organised and making sure we are creating chances.

"We are a team that don't rely on one department. We play together and we attack from the back and defend from the front. If you do that properly, it's going to be a helluva game."
