Mozambicans to play Bidvest Wits
Mozambican league champions Muculmana set up camp in Benoni on the East of Johannesburg during the second week of January and showed their determination to stamp their authority on the continent by forfeiting their festive break in preparation for the African Champions League.
This will be Muculmana's debut outing in Orange sponsored CAF Champions League after winning their first-ever domestic league title this season just three years after they were promoted to Moçambola, snatching the title ahead of established clubs like Desportivo de Maputo and Maxaquene.
The Maputo-based team, who are sponsored by the local Islamic community around Maputo, is scheduled to leave for a 21-day training camp in South Africa after the festive season to prepare for their match against Zambian crack side Zesco United.
Muculmana, who began their pre-season training on December 13, will set up camp in Benoni east of Johannesburg and have already secured one friendly match against South African Premier Soccer League club Bid Vest Wits and are playing to play more top South Africans clubs.
