Former South Africa's PSL stars Ernest Chirwali Mtawali and Patrick Mabedi have been offered assistant coach caretaker positions for their native Malawi national team, the Flames.
They are expected to serve under new interim head coach Eddington Ng'onamo of Big Big Bullets FC, Football Association of Malawi (FAM) chief executive officer Suzgo Nyirenda said.
“This offer is valid up until the end of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers in September 2014 and is subject to the offer being accepted,” Nyirenda said in a statement made available to supersport.com on Wednesday.
Ng’onamo replaces Kinnah Phiri who was removed and relocated alongside his former assistant Young Chimodzi and technical director Jack Chamangwana as regional sports development officers.
On the new panel there is captain Kondwani Kachipanda and Charles Manda as the new interim team doctor and team manager respectively, taking over from Matthews Mangondo and Stuart Mbolembole respectively.
