Silver march on in TNM Super League

Lilongwe gentle giants Silver Strikers are course to their third consecutive TNM Super League title after opening a two-point gap at the top of the standings on Sunday.
Silver thrashed third-placed Blantyre United 5-0; Rodrick Gonani hitting a hat trick and Frank Banda a brace at Silver Stadium.
The loss means that Blantyre are out of the race on 48 points from 26 games while Silver have three games to the finish line.
Still in Lilongwe, ten-man Big Bullets had a successful outing as they overcame the sending off of veteran winger Fischer Kondowe, over violent conduct, to beat hosts Civo United 2-0 on Saturday.
Dalitso Sailesi and Gabadinho Mhango scored for Bullets who remain second on 52 points, two points behind leaders Silver.
In other games, Mafco beat Epac 3-1, Bvumbwe Research lost by a similar margin to Kamuzu Barracks at Kamuzu Stadium on Saturday.
The following day, Kamuzu drew 1-1 with Red Lions in Zomba while Victor Mpinganjira scored twice as Mighty Wanderers dominated Escom United 3-0 at the Kamuzu arena. Bvumbwe, Escom and Kabwafu United are relegated.
