Karuturi Sports coach Michael Nam has admitted that newly promoted side Kakamega Homeboyz were superior in their league encounter last Sunday.
Despite going 1-0 up early in the match, Kakamega Homeboyz staged a comeback to stun the flowermen 3-1 at Bukhungu Stadium.
“We got many chances but we didn’t capitalise on our chances, unlike our opponents. They were clinical and they managed to get back into the game as they converted every chance they got in our match.”
“It was a good game. At some point it was 50-50 but it was the promoted side that carried the day,’ he told supersport.com.
Despite the defeat, he remains optimistic about the rest of the season.
“It is just our first game, the league is on and we hope we’ll learn from our mistakes.”
“Kakamega Homeboyz is a new side but it has players from former KPL sides and that has made them a decent opposition. They came here and proved a point.”
“We have to go back to the drawing board and work hard.”
