Sserunkuma elated with Cranes debut

Reigning Kenyan Premier League Player of the Year Dan Sserunkuma announced his arrival to the Uganda Cranes team with a goal and an assist in an International friendly against Rwanda on Wednesday.

Sserunkuma was over the moon after his fantastic debut intimating that he was working hard to score more goals after making up his mind to play for Cranes after months of uncertainty .

The soft spoken Sserunkuma thanked coach Bobby Williamson for giving him an opportunity saying he was out to make Ugandan fans happy in subsequent matches.

"Today is a special day and I want to thank God for enabling me to have my best debut. It was a tough match but I am happy we coordinated well with my fellow players despite training for a short time."

"I am feeling relaxed especially after months of uncertainty concerning the country I would play for. However I am now settled and I will give my full commitment to Uganda Cranes whenever called upon," a jovial Sserunkuma told supersport.com.

Sserunkuma has been in superb form for his club Gor Mahia where he has been an influential player since joining from City Stars.

Before deciding to play for Uganda Cranes he had put forward his wish to play for Harambee Stars before making up his mind after Kenya failed to quickly respond to his wishes.
