Mariga elated with Parma switch

Kenyan midfielder MacDonald Mariga is elated with his loan move from Inter Milan to Parma in the just concluded transfer window.

An elated Mariga described the move as the best present for the year as he seeks to solidify his place after fully recovering from an eight month layoff after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament.

Mariga who previosuly played for Parma before being signed for Inter Milan by then coach Jose Morinho has been looking to get more playing time and his agent Lorenzo Marchesi finally managed to secure the move.

"I am feeling really happy moving back to Parma, a club that I know so well and love. It feels so nice to go to a place I know so well and will work hard to help Parma in the Serie A. It has not been easy but I feel my body is ready for any challenge ahead and am ready for another important moment at Parma," Mariga told supersport.com from his base in Italy.

Mariga has had a chequered career that has seen him play in Sweden for Helsinborgs after leaving Kenya before moving to Italy where he joined Parma and then Inter. He was at one time loaned at top Spanish side Villareal before moving back to Parma where he suffered a serious injury last year.
