Bruno targets good season

Former Kenya Under 20 national team player Charles Bruno, who recently penned a deal with Kenyan Premier League (KPL) side Thika United, is eyeing a good season with the Brookside sponsored outfit as the team prepares for the 2013 season.

Bruno was named among the 31 players to do duty for the Thika based side in the coming campaign, despite having had a trial stint with South African top flight side SuperSport United FC, and he says he wants to help the team better the performance of the past few seasons.

The former U20 national team skipper admitted the coming season will be tough, but put his faith in the expertise of coach John Kamau who steered the team to a top half finish in the 2012 season – his first full season at the team.

“All teams in the competition at the moment are good but we are also training well in anticipation of a tough league season ahead. I am happy to get this chance to feature in the Kenyan Premier League with Thika United as I eye other openings in future,” he said.

“I believe we will do well in the season; we are working on our game plans and we also have a great coach in John Kamau so I personally believe we will finish above the fifth position we managed in the last campaign, and also with a better points haul.”

Thika United finished the 2012 campaign with 46 points from 30 matches.
