Dynamos close to Zikumbawire deal

The Castle Lager League is edging closer and defending champions Dynamos are still struggling to sign Hwange striker Francesco Zikumbawire.

Dynamos are still trying to raise money to pay $20 000 for the transfer of the striker that they want to get on one-year loan.

DeMbare have already registered Zikumbawire for the Caf Champions League, so the player is available while they iron out all the details. The two teams have since agreed on the figure for the transfer of the player and all that is just left is for them to make the payment.

Dynamos chairman Kenny Mubaiwa tells Supersport.com that they are working around the clock to finalise the deal with Hwange.

“We want the player and registering him for CAF just shows how we want to use him both in the tournament and in the local league as well. We may lose other strikers so we need to have a good replacement and he is a perfect striker to have in the team,” Mubaiwa said.

Mubaiwa added that it would be good to look for other strikers as well just to be on standby.

“We will not just sit down and relax regarding the strikers or any other players. We will look at how we can find more players to help the team in the forthcoming season. You know all eyes are on us as defending champions and winning the double in two consecutive seasons – a lot is expected from us,” he added.
