Why Mariga will miss Libya friendly

Kenyan international midfielder MacDonald Mariga has dispelled reports that he will miss Harambee Stars friendly against Libya due to injury.
Speaking to supersport.com from his base in Italy, Mariga said that he was fully fit and had not suffered from a knee injury since recovering from the torn Achilles tendon that put him out for eight months.
Mariga also sought to explain circumstances that led to the friendly snub after getting advice from his agent Lorenzo Marchesi.
"I am really shocked to learn of the said injury rumour and this am hearing from you. I am 100 percent fine but the issue in hand is that when the call came from FKF, they spoke to my agent Lorenzo Marchesi who told them that they had to clear all my outstanding dues before I played for Harambee Stars again," Mariga told supersport.com.
"It is important that the federation live up to expectations and they must be trusted and so I will be remaining in my base in Italy until further notice," he added.
On his rumoured move to Fulham, Mariga acknowledged that his agent was working on it.
Mariga failed to play against Togo last year when he was called up asking the federation to refund monies he used on paying for his tickets to attend to national team assignments.
