Ouma targets Kenya Cup honours
Sofapaka coach David Ouma is hoping that his side can win the Kenya Power Charity Cup over the coming weekend.
The inaugural edition of the Charity Cup will take place on Saturday 2 February 2013 at the Moi Sports Centre Kasarani, and will also feature Gor Mahia, Western Stima and Mathare United.
“I would like to thank the fans for voting for us and enabling us have the opportunity to play in this tournament,” said Ouma.
“The players too are thankful and hope to do well come Saturday. The field will be tough as all the clubs in there can win games and beat each other on their day.
“However, I feel that with the preparation we have had as well as players we possess in our squad, we have a good chance of winning. I hope it comes to fruition.”
Ouma says that he will rotate his squad at the tournament. “I will use as many players as I can possible,” said Ouma.
“It is a one-day tourney and so I do not want to heap pressure on the players. We will use as many players as we can and try out different formations because I think we have a large enough squad.”
Ouma added that he considers Gor Mahia to be strong favourites for the event.
