Karuturi to return 'home'

Kenyan Premier League side Karuturi Sports has been given the all-clear to use the Karuturi Stadium for this season’s matches.

Karuturi were forced out of the venue towards the end of the 2012 season due to a court tussle between the club’s sponsors, Karuturi Flowers and the Crayfish Camp.

In the time that the team was locked out of the venue, they held all their home matches at the neighbouring Oserian Stadium.

Confirming the return, the club’s head coach Michael Nam said that they have already started training at the venue and thanked all parties involved, noting that they stand to improve on their last performance thanks to the convenience of playing at familiar grounds.

“Returning to the ‘Old Trafford’ is a motivation-booster and I am sure that we shall be on our best footing in all the matches that we will hold there. I am glad that an amicable settlement was reached,” said Nam, who jetted back into the country a few days ago after attending a coaching course in Europe.

Karuturi closed the 2012 season ranked 12th in the 16-team first tier league. The managed 32 points from 30 matches.
