Gor to face Mathare in Charity Cup
Kenyan Premier League (KPL) giants Gor Mahia have been drawn against 2008 champions Mathare United in a mouthwatering Kenya Power Charity Cup match, on February 2 at Moi International Sports Centre – Kasarani.
In the draw, which was conducted on Friday 25 January at the Hilton Hotel in Nairobi, it was determined that Sofapaka would play against Western Stima in the other semifinal match.
K’Ogalo, who amassed a total number of 12,989 of votes in the voting process, will take on the Slum Boys in an early kick-off match at 9am before paving way for the second match at 11am.
The winners of the two matches will then battle it out in the final, scheduled to take place later that day, at 4pm.
Tickets for the one-day event are already out for sale, with the VIP tickets going at Ksh1000, while the mid-level and terraces tickets are retailed at Ksh500 and Ksh200 respectively.
The winner of the inaugural tourney will walk away with a $10,000 (approx. KSh840,000) prize, while the runners up will get $6,000 (approx. KSh480,000). The teams that finish third and fourth will receiving $2,000 (approx. KSh164,000) each.
