Gor Mahia coach Zradvko Logarusic has dropped new Brazilian recruit Giovanni Rodriguez from the Nyanza tour where they are expected to play Sony Sugar on Saturday and Muhoroni Youth on Sunday.
Logarusic intimated to supersport.com that the player was not in a proper physical or mental position to travel for the friendlies as he was already home sick.
"I can confirm to you I will not be taking Rodriguez to the Nyanza tour as he has family issues at home and is already home sick so I have to only take only the players who are conditioned and ready for the friendlies," Logarusic told supersport.com.
Logarusic also hinted that the player would be returning to his native Brazil, "I think since the player is home sick he will be going back home but I can only say I will not be taking him to the Nyanza tour with me," Logarusic added.
However sources at Gor who sought anonymity told supersport.com that the player had failed to meet the standards despite training with the team and that he was going to be dropped since he did not add value to the squad.
"The truth of the matter is that Rodriguez is not up to the task even after training and the technical bench feels he is surplus to requirements," the source said.
Rodriguez was unveiled at Gor amid pomp and celebration at the City Stadium but has failed to impress in training sessions.
