Logarusic cultivates Gor competition

Gor Mahia head coach Zdravko Logarusic has let his players know that they will have to fight for positions in the team.

According to the Croatian tactician, he already has a number of players filling each department and that he will only be selecting the best ones to do duty in matches.

“We are currently serving a very intense training schedule and I am sure that the fitness levels of all my players will be in tip-top condition by the time we get into competitive matches. I have already made my players understand that a lot is expected of us in 2013 and that I shall only be picking the best to play,” said Logarusic.

Gor Mahia won two of the available domestic titles in the past season and finished second in the Kenyan Premier League, losing out on the top honour to Tusker FC.

Logarusic says he is now eyeing a treble and will not let minor mistakes get in his way.

“We plan to take the three titles available for the year as well as impress in the continentals. So, it’s going to be a very tough year for us,” he said.

Aside from the league, the Top Eight tournament and the FKF Cup, Gor Mahia will also be competing for the Caf Confederations Cup and the Kenya Power Charity Cup, with the latter set to take place on 2 February.
