Kangata hoping to land Canada move

KCB skipper Joseph Kangata is likely not to form part of the squad next season after jetting off to Canada during the current pre-season.

The bankers have confirmed that the long serving skipper left the country to join his brother, who is a resident in the country, and chances are that he could be staying longer in the country.

According to the team manager Josphat Okal however, Kangata will be included in the team’s squad that will be presented to the Kenyan Premier League.

“Kangata is out of the country and will not be with us at the start of the season since he could get better fortunes there and therefore we are still not sure what will transpire,” he said.

“He is, however, still part of us and we will include him in our list for the 2013 season awaiting what will happen, but we are wishing him the best.”

The defender has had a long stay at the club and managed to lead the side to a 10th place finish in the 2012 season. The club has, however, suffered inconsistency – failing to make it to their projected top 8 bracket by the end of last term.

The bankers have now hired former Congo United coach Juma Abdalla to replace James Omondi and he is expected to name his squad in the next week.
